You’ll want to get prequalified first. The prequalification letter will help us plan around any restrictions or limitations concerning an acquisition loan and inform us about what documentation will be required during the application process. We’re happy to provide a list of trusted lenders should you not already have one.
Get to know some of the neighborhoods you would like to consider living in. This helps narrow down the home-building location process and ensures that what you’re looking for is located in one of the many North Houston communities our team builds in. With so many great neighborhoods to choose from, finding your sweet spot won’t be a problem! If you’re looking to build on your own land, we can help with that too!
Determine how much square footage you need or want for your home. Deciding this upfront will help focus the style and layout you’re looking for. Next, consider what type of home would be best suited for your family. Do you need space for kids? Would they like to fish off their back porch every day after school? How about a beautiful pool? Are walking and bike paths essential to your weekly rhythms? Take some time out to determine environmental elements that support the way your family lives before making any final decisions on layout and design.
Put together a must-have list. This could include things like a fenced-in backyard, a walk-in pantry, a safe room, his and hers bathroom vanities, a formal dining room, etc. With those written down, you won’t miss any non-negotiable and absolute must-haves in your family’s future home.
